Moms in Motion Simi Valley's 1st TRI

I am absolutely enjoying looking up from the timing computers and getting to meet you.  For 20 straight years, i have been at your races by 4:00am setting up by headlamp and not looking up until the porta potties are being hauled away and not one evidence of the race is left standing.  And I felt a heart thump every time, “Hope you had a good time.”  Thanks to growing into a key timing company with key, capable staff, I have been able to look up.

LOOK what I found: We were at the Strawberry Fields 5k & Triathlon in Oxnard, California. It was an ideal location for a race.  A worthwhile resort weekend.  Check out the embassy Suites. www.mandalaybeach.embassysuites.com.  A walk out the door and to the race.

It was just fun, fun in the sun.  Hats off to the event organizers.  They did a supberb job.  We, PRIME TIME, did a superb job.

The mix of 1200 triathletes and hundreds of runners on a perfect beachy day.

Strawberry Fields. Fun Tri/run crowd. Mom’s in Motion from Simi ValleyMoms In Motion is a great group. mom in motion For a small fee a woman can join, receive a singlet and meet people to train, laugh, learn, and set goals with.  These women were doing their very first triathlon and you could feel the excitement.  One gal, said this was such a beautiful addition to her life, having all these new and instant friends.  Cameron Kunde. Another No. 1 runner.

Cameron Kunde...a runner to key your eye on.

So I look up while the 5K is assembling and watch this young man tie his racing flats up and start doing striders.  He had a determined countenance, a gifted one. I could sense even from this distance that he was meant to run.  There is this flute small percentage of the population that are almost innately born with in.  He was nervous, but knowing and making himself ready to run.  I had to meet him.  Cameron Kunde is only 12 years old.  I think he said he was from Ohai.  He started track when he was 6 years old.  Excelled in the 400 and 800m.  Cameron said he really became a runner when he started working with a coach, Ed Italo, a master’s track athlete.  Cameron is ranked top ten in the nation in the mile.  I could tell!

Better than a pair of sneakers. Pair of runners. Michael and Sarah are 12 yr old twins…that runAlso in that crowd, were the Mayes.  Mom and Dad are helping two emerging running stars.  Although they attend a private school, they are being coached by Dale Lister from Hillview Middle School in Palmdale.  They joined the High Desert Runners Club.  Michael did a PR today of 19:43 coming in 2nd to Cameron.  Impressive. Took a Spin on the beach! took a spin on the beach
